Market Street Stamps March Block Party!

Good morning! Just a quick post to squeeze in my entry to this months Market Street Stamps Block Party! Here's what I made:
I love paper-piecing that cute dog from "Pawprints On Our Hearts" - this time I used all Authentique paper from assorted 6x6 paper pads.
The frame shape was cut and with my Spellbinders Nestabilities. Used Glossy Accents on the eyes and nose - love how it makes them look more real! The picture doesn't show it real well, but it is really cute!
I pop-dotted the frame from the background, and stamped some pawprints around it - also putting some Glossy Accents on them.
Finished off with a strip of paper and some brads to attach it.
Hope you are having a fun weekend! Can't wait to see you here soon with some new Peachy Keen releases!

Card Patterns Sketch 158 - Phyllis Harris

Hello! Busy day today - but want to share a card that I made for this weeks Card Patterns Sketch:
And here is the sketch:

I pulled out one of my newest Phyllis Harris sets that I hadn't inked up yet, and combined some paper piecing with my Copic markers. Isn't this just the sweetest image? Makes me feel like I can smell the grass, and hear the birds singing!
I tucked a doily under the bottom for the rounded element from the sketch, and hand cut a banner for the sentiment. I trimmed the sentiment into little strips so I could reassemble it to fit the banner.
All the papers are from Basic Grey's 6x6 Picadilly collection. I also inked the edges of everything with Tim Holtz distress ink in Vintage Photo, and rounded the top edges with a Martha Stewart corner rounder.
Finished off with a bit of seam binding ribbon, and a PTI button and some PTI button twine.

Thanks for stopping by today! I am also linking this up to Unity Friends with Flair (my second post!)

Unity Friends with Flair - Doors and Windows Challenge

Good morning! Welcome to another Friday Friends with Flair on the Unity blog! Definitely one of my favorite days of the week! Here is my card for this week:
This is also for the Unity March Challenge, Doors and Windows. I used my Spellbinders Nestabilities to cut and emboss a window frame.
I stamped and colored the image behind with Copic markers, and distressed the edges with some Tim Holtz distress ink in Antique Linen.
All the papers are Authentique, and inked with Tim Holtz distress ink in Vintage Photo.
I stamped the sentiment with PTI white ink, tied some PTI twine around the window panel, and pop-dotted the whole piece from the background.
Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you are having a great Friday, and have a wonderful weekend!

Change is good...

Oh my...this stamp just makes me crack up! (Oops...no pun intended!) I won it a couple weeks ago, and just finally had time to ink it up! My big brother is going through an uncertain time concerning employment - the company where he has worked for 15 years is shutting down, so he is searching for a job. So I made this to let him know I was thinking of him, and praying for him - and hopefully to help him smile through a trying situation! And to remember that God has something better in mind!
I paper-pieced the image with some My Mind's Eye paper from a 6x6 paper pad.
The oval is cut and embossed with one of my Nestabilities. I inked the edges of it and the sentiment square with Tim Holtz distress ink.
Here is a closer look at the paper-piecing:
Pop-dotted it from the oval, then pop-dotted the oval to the card, after wrapping some Baker's twine around in a few different colors.
The border piece was cut with a Fiskars Border punch.
Hope this gave you a smile today too! Thanks for stopping by!

Butterfly Map

Just a quick post today since my day is going to be one of those crazy busy ones! I made this card for the recent Paper Crafts Magazine call for submissions...but I never submitted it. I really liked how it turned out, but it wasn't what I was expecting. I ended up submitting something entirely different - and that is what ended up being my first acceptance! So I'm okay with that!
I used some My Mind's Eye 6x6 paper, and the map paper is from October Afternoon's Sasparilla 8x8 paper pad.
The butterflies are a Martha Stewart punch. I punched each one out twice, inked the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink (can we say tedious?!?!?!) - then adhered the first one to the blue paper, the next one just in the center, and ran a couple lines of machine stitching through the center. After they were all stitched and dry, I curled up the edges so it is very dimensional.
You can see it here too:
Finished off with a machine zig zag around the edges, a sentiment from Scrappy Mom's stamps, and the little butterfly stamps which are from the same Scrappy Mom's set.
Thanks for stopping in! Hope your day is wonderful!!!

Celebrate!!!

Hello! First of all - thanks for the anniversary wishes! We had a wonderful weekend together - went to a little bed and breakfast in the mountains, and just relaxed and enjoyed time together! I even went snow-shoeing for the first time! And while I did feel pretty awkward, it was lots of fun!

So - now that I am back and getting into the swing of things again, I took a few moments to pull out my crafty stuff and play while my girls do their homeschooling! Here is what I came up with (because I'm still in a celebratory mood I guess!):
I used a My Mind's Eye 6x6 paper pad - LOVE all the bright colors! The banner is from the Unity March KOTM - as well as both the sentiments.
I paper-pieced the banner, then stamped the smaller sentiment, and trimmed it into two pieces to stick on the banner. I put some Glossy Accents on the sentiment and the star for a little shine.
The bottom main sentiment also got a good coating of Glossy Accents.
Used some crinkle ribbon around the top for a bow, then tied some twine and a button on.
I used kraft paper for the card base, and did some faux stitching around the pattern paper.
And...I almost forgot - I also inked the edges of the sentiment pieces, and main cardstock piece with Tim Holtz distress ink in Vintage Photo.
I'm so glad you stopped by today! Have a wonderful day!

MCT - Imagine That Color Challenge

Hello! Almost missed the deadline for this! This is for the My Creative Time Monday Madness Imagine That Color Challenge! Whew! That's a mouthful! I don't have an Imagine, so I used pattern paper. Here is what I made:
And here is the color inspiration:

I used some My Mind's Eye papers, and my Elegant Edges cartridge to cut out the frame shape.
Inked the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink, and added a black silhouette from the Botanical cartridge.
The sentiment is (of course!) from My Creative Time. And I added a bit of Tim Holtz rose trim, some inking with gray Versamark, and a couple of stick on gems.
Thanks for stopping by! See you back soon!

VBS project...

Just really quickly wanted to share a project I made last week! It was a special order for someone doing a VBS program with their church. I had a friend come over and help me, and we put together 60 of these cute little airplanes and banners! The airplane is from Pop-up Neighborhood, the banner is from New Arrival, and all the paper is Authentique - mixed and matched different colors. I also added a bit of glossy accents to the propeller and wheels!

That's it! Just a bunch of pictures! Enjoy your day and weekend!

Peachy Keen Challenge #10 - Card with Faux Stitching

Hello! It's time again for another challenge over on the Peachy Keen blog! The challenge this week is to create a card, and include some "faux" stitching on it. I just recently splurged and got a Silhouette Cameo (squeal!!!) - so I decided to use an image from the Silhouette store for my card today! Here is what I made:
I also squeezed a lot of Peachy sets on this card! Here they are:

I used some Authentique 6x6 paper, and stamped the Grampa's pajamas background on the gold color - but only on the top, to leave room for the sentiment, which is from the Vivienne and Friends set..
I cut out the image with my Silhouette, added a face from the Wide-Eyed Kids Assortment, and did a bunch of stitching. I then wrapped some Papertrey Ink twine around the card, and tucked a little into the tea cup to make steam (not sure if it gave it the effect I was hoping for?) One tip on the twine - twist the ends between your fingers a bit to fray the ends - then it doesn't look so sharp and blunt.
Used foam adhesive to attach it to the card, added some more faux stitching around the gold, then added a couple of stick on pearls.
I love this sentiment on this card - really this is a perfect card for my hubby! Nothing better than a cup of hot tea or coffee, and a pile of books to read! And I love how masculine the colors are together.
Thanks for stopping by! Make sure and head on over to the Peachy Keen blog to join in on the challenge for a chance to win this weeks prize - and check to see if you were picked Top Peach from last weeks challenge! Can't wait to see what you make!!!
